Since the announcement on earlier this week about the new cast of ‘Dancing With The Stars’, there has been a lot heated comments over Chaz Bono being selected for the reality program. Most aren’t too friendly.

To fill you in, Chaz Bono is the only child of [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Sunny Bono[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Cher[/lastfm]. Bono was born a female but last year legally change his name and gender to male. This process was documented in film ‘Becoming Chaz’. Since the ‘DWTS’ announcement Chaz Bono has become the most famous transgendered person in the country. People who disagree with Bono’s lifestyle soon went the internet to vocalize their disagreement. One comment on ‘DWTS’ message board read:

“HUGE HUGE fan of this show since season two and eagerly await each season to get my dancing/entertainment ‘fix’!! But when I heard that Chaz Bono was going to be on, I was sick. Not that I have anything personally again her/him, I just don’t want that lifestyle choice continually flaunted in the media esp ABC.”

Bono was the most talked about subject on the message board.  Cher has soon come to the [photogallerylink id=45899 align=right]defense of her child on Twitter. “Lovelies! Chaz is Being Viciously Attacked on Blogs & Message boards about being on DWTS!,” Cher tweeted earlier this afternoon. “This is Still America right? It took guts 2 do it.” Cher is clearly not happy with the comments about her son. She went further to tweeted “God! will there always be haters! It took COURAGE 2 do dwts! TG Chaz has an Unlimited supply.” She even made a call of action, “Can u guys check out sites & give him your support ? BTW …Mothers don’t stop Getting angry with stupid bigots who *explicative* with their children!”

Chaz is currently practicing with his dance partner, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Lacey Schwimmer[/lastfm]. The show premieres its 13th season on September 19th at 8 pm on ABC.
