You could never tell when [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Heejun Han[/lastfm] was joking during his time on American Idol, but has he gone too far with his parting shots at the show?
During interviews after being eliminated from the show Thursday night, Heejun took a couple of shots at his mentors, telling The Insider that [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Diddy[/lastfm] was “kind of drunk when we were having our mentor session,” his critique of Diddy continues, ” You do not wanna be drunk when you’re coming to American Idol sessions, OK?”
If it wasn’t obvious to you that Diddy wasn’t a big fan of the Korean-born singer before the biting comments, you can be sure they won’t be grabbing a cup of coffee together any time soon.
And then there is his opinion of Jimmy Iovine. Han told USA Today, “To be honest, Jimmy Iovine is a really nice guy. But I just didn’t like him as a person, so I didn’t want to be serious with him until last week.”
“At the end of the day, I realized that Jimmy Iovine was a great producer and hit-maker, and I had to accept the fact that he’s a big shot in this industry.”
Heejun’s comments about his mentors weren’t all laced with arsenic. “Stevie Nicks told me to be effortless toward the song, don’t try to impress anyone by singing it, but try to tell your story.”
So now what? Han says he’s not going to watch Idol anymore, and isn’t rooting for any of his fellow contests either. “I was rooting for Jeremy, Sharon or Erika…but [that] didn’t happen so I’m not gonna root any for now. I’m just gonna watch The Voice.”
Heejun Han. You’re one of a kind.
