It was not an NFL event but an outdoor church service held Easter Sunday that drew roughly 15,000 people… that and an appearance from NFL Quarterback Tim Tebow.
The openly devout athlete responsible for the “Tebow-ing” phenomenon told the massive crowd that it’s okay to be outspoken about your faith. When asked what he thought about changes that need to occur in American culture, Tebow simply replied, “First and foremost is what this country was based on: one nation under God. The more that we can get back to that.”
Despite the 80-degree Texan heat, worshipers and Tebow admirers were all excited to see the famous athlete speak for 20 minutes during the 2-hour service.
“My biggest prayer is to kind of make that cool again, for a high school kid to get on a knee and pray and it’s not something that’ unique or different,” Tebow adds.
