The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival is a short drive from Los Angeles and its proximity leads to the appearance of many celebrities — from the predictable to the completely unexpected. This year was no exception.

KROQ/Los Angeles reported that Justin Bieber was in attendance, making an entrance that “shut down artist parking forcing dozens of cars to be diverted.” Sadly no photos of the Biebs rocking out were captured, but Katy Perry more than made up for it when she was captured by photographers dancing to French rockers M83 (whose song “Midnight City” [photogallerylink id=65717 align=right]soundtracked a Victoria’s Secret commercial last year) on the festival’s first night and again on the closing night with BFF Rihanna during the star-studded Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre performance. Rihanna was riding high on the shoulders of a bodyguard. Also spotted bodyguard surfing during that performance was Ke$ha — and cameras captured Usher turning up on the grounds for the final night.

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan made her way to the festival’s third night as well.

Rihanna arrived early to the fest with Katy and was captured watching producer and DJ David Guetta’s set on the second day of the festival. Michelle Trachtenberg of Gossip Girl popped over and caught the band Manchester Orchestra. Paris Hilton stopped by to take photos with fans.

And the final day of Coachella was rounded by with spottings of Vanessa Hudgens, The Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev, and Skrillex.
