With ‘The Voice’ being over, Christina Aguilera and Tony Lucca have decided to play nice. But what about X-Tina’s ongoing battle with the show’s other coach, Adam Levine?
It’s no secret that Christina and Adam have been butting heads throughout their time on ‘The Voice’, more prominently this season than the last, but did she go as far as to take it out on Team Levine?
When Tony Lucca sang for his blind audition, he was stunned to find that Christina was far from memory lane of their former Mouseketeer days. During his time on the show, Christina made it clear that she was unimpressed with his voice, even calling it “one-dimensional.” For his final performance, Lucca sang an original rendition of Jay-Z’s “99 Problem”‘ to the tune of “We Will Rock You” – see performance below. Christina’s reaction? “The lyrical connotation was a little derogatory toward women, but overall it was good fun.”
After the results were in and Lucca came in third, the two were seen chatting after the show. “She just wanted to clear the air a bit,” says Lucca. “She apologized that this became much more of a dramatic thing than she ever intended it.
We’re glad the Mouseketeers could finally have a civil reunion! But what about fellow coach, Adam Levine?
The “innocent” bickering all season long has gotten to be a bit much, wouldn’t you say? ‘The Voice’ coach Cee Lo Green certainly agrees, “It’s getting a little old and a little inconvenient for everyone…It’s not something that we should carry over into season three. I want the integrity of the show intact.”
At least the show’s host, Carson Daly, doesn’t think it will last forever, saying, “It’s frustrating in the same way when you’re just with your family on Thanksgiving and the conversation over Monopoly gets heightened for a second – I’m looking at my sister going, ‘Is my blood really boiling over the fact that you have Park Place?’ Then it goes away.”
What does Adam have to say on the matter? “We just bicker like brother and sister, and part of it is fabricated by the television gods. But she’s great. I respect the shit out of her.”
Well that’s good news! We hope to see a happy family come time for season three of ‘The Voice’!
