Kristen Stewart? Really?
Do you agree that Kristen Stewart deserves to make more money than any other Hollywood actress? Because she is indispensable to the “Twilight” franchise the studio is willing to pony up millions, landing her in the top spot on the Forbes.com annual list of highest paid leading ladies.
No one would be able to step into the role of Bella Swan at this point, making it possible for Kristen to demand $12.5 million per film plus a share of the profits. Add in the paycheck for her role in the film “Snow White and the Huntsmen” and Kristen pulled in $34.5 million between May 2011 and May 2012.
Not far behind is Cameron Diaz who made $34 million last year. Most of her money came from the surprising success of the comedy “Bad Teacher” with Justin Timberlake. The film took in $216 worldwide, and by being a smart business woman Diaz was able to cut a deal with the studio for a chunk of the profits. She also had additional earnings for her roles in “What to Expect When Your Expecting” and “Green Hornet”
Our third place actress trails FAR behind Diaz by $9 million. Sandra Bullock took time out of quietly raising her son Louis for a part in “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close”. Even though the film drew an Oscar nomination, the film only earned $48 million. Bullock is still drawing residual checks for the 2009 blockbuster “The Blind Side” and an upcoming film “Gravity”. That is why she was still able to place third on the Forbes list with $25 million last year.
