Lady Gaga has a new tattoo!

She tweeted a picture of the ink Friday morning, which is the word “artpop” spelled out in all capitals  and is located on the underside of her arm. Her message to 27 million plus followers, aka Little Monsters was, “New ink, new album.”

Could this possibly be a hint to the title of Gaga’s new album? According to Radar Online, she promised earlier this year that she would “shed light” on a new project this September.  The pop superstar later tweeted another photo, this one with words saying, “We could/ We could belong together/ARTPOP.”

Could these be lyrics, and what exactly does “artpop” mean?  There is some speculation that it could be a tribute to Andy Warhol, the famous pop-culture influenced painter, and one of Gaga’s favorite artists.  ”Warhol said art should be meaningful in the most shallow way,” she told Maxim magazine. “He was able to make commercial art that was taken seriously as fine art … [and] that’s what I’m doing too.”

I guess we’ll have to wait until September to figure out this mystery!
