Rumors have been swirling as to whom we will see perform at the 2012 Olympic  Closing Ceremony. We’re pretty sure George Michael will be there, since he’s been tweeting about his rehearsal. Don’t ever ask him to keep a secret. The Spice Girls have also been spotted rehearsing around town. Jessie J’s name has been popping up a lot too.

Other big names being bandied about include The Who’s Roger Daltry, who recently told the press he’d written the perfect song to close out the show. We know for certain that The Who’s Keith Moon will not perform, although he was regrettably sent an invitation. Yes, that Keith Moon, who died in 1978.

We’ve also heard whispers of an appearance by The Rolling Stones, Queen, Annie Lennox, Ray Davies of the Kinks, and a possibly Pink Floyd in some configuration performing ‘Wish You Were Here’, although the band’s rep denies they will appear.

It’s also possible we could see a very pregnant Adele take the stage and Paul McCartney could pull out another gem to close the show. Everybody loves the Beatles.

The other night the entire Olympic stadium broke out into an impromptu sing along of the Beatles ‘All you need is Love’. You just gotta love it.
