What New Years Eve countdown show will you be tuning into this year?

It’s looking like “Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Years Eve” hosted by Ryan Seacrest will be the big show this year, since previously announced guests include Taylor Swift, Carly Rae Jepson, Neon Trees, Fergie, Jason Aldean, Ellie Goulding, the Wanted, Brandy, Flo Rida, Karmin, OneRepublic and Pitbull), but NBC’s “New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly” is looking like it will be a tough contender.

The two hour show kicks off at 10 pm and will feature all four of The Voice coaches Christina Aguilera,  Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton. Other big names include guests Amy Poehler, Donald Trump, Jay Leno, Jimmy Fallon, Nick Offerman, Adam Scott, some of the cast members from ‘Parenthood’ and Angela Kinsey from ‘The Office.’  Also, the broadcast will feature live performances from Train (who will sing “Mermaid” and a cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine”), and “The Voice” winner Cassadee Pope , and a special “Musical Retrospective” segment with performances from Justin Bieber, ColdplayMadonna, Psy, BeyonceAdele, the Spice Girls and David Guetta.  .

Although Ryan Seacrest’s show will feature live performances from some big names, the NBC show will take a new angle by highlighting their series regulars and showing off the best performances from the year.   But both shows look promising, so perhaps there will need to be some channel surfing in between commercials and disliked segments!
