Nicki Minaj And Adam Levine To Create Their Own Fashion Lines
Well, at least for a pair of fashion lines at a single retailer. According to The New York Post, the two are in talks to launch matching lines of clothing, housewares and accessories at either K-Mart, Wal-Mart or Target stores. This would be similar to the deal that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony inked with Kohl’s a few years ago. The contract is not finalized yet, but sources tell the newspaper that details could be announced as soon as this week.
Surprised that these two could be working together? Well, despite the fact that they are playing for different teams, it will likely work in the same way that the Lopez/Anthony deal did because, if you remember correctly, they split up before their Kohl’s lines launched. Plus, Nicki is known for her eccentric style, and there will certainly be fans eager to replicate her fashions (plus she also already has a successful perfume that will likely be sold at the store in conjunction with this line). We’re not really sure where Adam fits into all of this (other than the fact that he is eye candy and will look great in ads!), but the person spearheading this endeavor is Charles Koppelman (who has experience with brands like Steve Madden and Martha Stewart Living), so there should be some success!
The lines are expected to launch in time for the 2013 Holiday Seasons, so details may be unclear for a while.
