Disney has announced several released dates for some of its most popular film series. The biggest one has to be the return of the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise. The film is site to be released in July of 2015. The movie will see of the return of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. No word on who else is cast in the film or the plot of the story. Other big announcements include the sequel to The Muppets which will hit theaters in March of 2014. Tina FeyRicky Gervais and Modern Family’s Ty Burrell will join the Muppets in their next feature film. Jason Segel is will not be reprising his character from the first one. Several months later, July 2014, will see the release of Maleficent. The film will star Angelina Jolie as the title character will be a live action retelling of Sleeping Beauty tale as told from the perspective of the princess’ evil nemesis, Maleficent.

The biggest franchise right is the Marvel’s Avengers Universe. With several superheroes spanning across many films, the series has a massive gripe on pop culture. This year we are getting two flicks from the Marvel world, Iron Man 3 (May 2013) and Thor 2: The Dark World (November 2013). Disney, the owner of the Marvel Studios, is scheduling sequels for the near future. Captain America: The Winter Soldier will drop in April of 2014 and Guardians Of The Galaxy will be in the multiplex August of 2014. The Avengers 2 will be released in 2015. Pretty much Disney is owning the movie world. Set your calendars.
