While many celebrities were more concerned with the Screen Actors Guild Awards that happened Sunday and the subsequent after parties, one celeb found another issue to occupy his Sunday night with.  Taye Diggs, known for his current role on ‘Private Practice’, got into gear on Sunday night when an attempted burglary went down at his Studio City, California home.

At about 11:20 P.M on Sunday, January 27th, 20-year-old would-be robber Hassan Omar Juma assumed the residents of the Studio City home would be out enjoying a night of revelry and celebration at the SAG Awards on Sunday night, leaving their home very much open and available.  Juma broke into the garage, where he found himself surprised by Taye Diggs and his wife Idina Menzel who had returned from their night out earlier than Juma had expected.  When Juma tried to flee the scene of the crime, Diggs proceeded to chase down the criminal and detain him until the cops arrived.

We’re glad justice prevailed, but we wonder what could have gotten into Juma’s mind to think that home would be an easy target.  Diggs and Menzel are both incredibly fit celebrities; indeed, if Menzel had gotten her hands on Juma, who knows what would have happened!  According to her Twitter account, Menzel has been taking up boxing lessons, so with this fearsome twosome, we doubt any other burglars will be coming their way soon.
