Crossover queen, Taylor Swift, has landed the opening performance on Sunday night’s 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards.
The singer is up for three awards including Record of the Year for “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”
Not only has she received several GRAMMY noms, but she has made her mark in the pop world with “I Knew You Were Trouble” logging in its third consecutive week at number one on Billboard’s Top 40 chart. The song has even hit number one in five countries.
For all her success, Swift has received some criticism on what genre she really qualifies. She cleared that up saying, “I’ve been called not country enough since my first album. So, it’s kind of a criticism I’m really used to at this point. And people, you know, like every time I put out a song, there’s always someone saying, ‘It’s too something.’ ‘It’s too pop.’ It’s too rock.’ ‘It’s too bluegrass.’ I’d rather be ‘too something,’ than ‘not enough something.’ “
There you have it, that clears it up… kind of.
Swift continues to add new shows to the Red tour because of overwhelming demand. Her tour kicks off next month.
