What My Son Learned From Watching The Fight

It’s SO not what you’d think!! The big fight was Saturday – maybe you let your kids watch – maybe you didn’t. It was certainly the talk at Jackson’s preschool leading up the fight… a lot of moms talking about whether it was too violent? And whether they’re old enough to watch boxing. Well, Dan and I ordered the fight, had a little party, and decided to let our 4-year-old Jackson watch.

I didn’t really think much about that until yesterday when Jackson – out of the blue – started talking about the fight from Saturday; he’s kind of a thinker. Maybe your kid is like this: internalizing things for a while. So… he says to me… “Mom. Do you remember that girl at the fight?” But, if you watched the fight like I did,  outside enjoying wine with girlfriends – NOT THE FIGHT – then you are probably as confused as I was. Although – I did remember seeing the Tecate girl because the guys kept mentioning how they all of the sudden wanted some… Tecate… But… I wasn’t sure where my son was going with this…  so I played a long… like yeah… what about that girl from the fight? And he says… kind of giggling… “You could see her booty!” And he turns around… points at his booty and says… “THESE LUMPS! They’re called butt cheeks!!”

Yep. That happened. Him beating up kids on the school yard turns out to be the least of our worries… he’s now fixated on the word butt cheeks!!
