Turns out Sacramento voters are pretty good at picking the president. Yup. Someone looked at statistics in the four county region that show we’ve backed the eventual winner in every presidential election since 1972… consecutively… and it all started more than four decades ago with Richard Nixon. It’s probably because the Sacramento area is pretty evenly split politically. About 39 percent of the four county voters are registered Democrat, 33 percent are registered Republican, 22 percent state no party preference, and the remaining six percent claim other parties.Will be interesting to see if that trend stays true for 2016.
