Best Thanksgiving Films To Watch With Your Family

Need something to do with your family after the turkey has cooled down and before the Black Friday shopping begins?

If you don’t feel like leaving the house, why don’t you watch one of these great Thanksgiving films (or films with Thanksgiving scenes in them)!

1) Funny People (2009)

Not really about Thanksgiving, but there is a great Thanksgiving scene in this one!  Starring Adam Sandler as a lonely comedian who discovers he has leukemia and grows a desire for real friendships.  Check out the hilarious toast he gives at the Thanksgiving dinner table!

2) Grumpy Old Men (1993)

This flick follows the story of a lifelong feud between Max Goldman (Walter Matthau) and John Gustafson (Jack Lemmon), whose hostility gets worse on Thanksgiving Day after spotting their new female neighbor on a date.

3) Home for the Holidays (1995)

Starring Holly Hunter as Claudia Larson, a woman who looses her job and finds herself having to go home to her offbeat family to spend Turkey Day together. The holiday comedy is full of dysfunctional family antics!

4) Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987)

In this comedy, a man (Steve Martin) is just trying to get home for Turkey Day when his flight gets canceled. A curtain-ring salesman (John Candy) is heading in the same direction and accompanies Martin, annoying him with his bad humor along the way.

5) Pocahontas (1995)

The animated Disney flick has a thankful theme as the famed Native American do-gooder teaches John Smith and English colonists appreciation for nature and living in harmony with one another.

Do you have any other holiday favorites to add to the list?
