The power of social media has taken another win! Cosmopolitan reports that one writer recently called out sexism found in the dictionary and many took to twitter to tag Merriam-Webster.
Ali Segel was sent a screenshot of the definition of femininity while working on a project after the election results. The writer was shocked to find out how normal it was made to seem and noted the crazy double standard, “Can you imagine: ‘He managed to become a CEO without sacrificing his masculinity.'”
Merriam-Webster spoke out and agreed – removing the sentence altogether.
