Carrie Fisher, known for her stardom as Princess Leia in the Star Wars films, has passed away 60 years old. Fisher went into cardiac arrest while traveling on a plane from London to Los Angeles on Friday, Dec. 23rd.
She was rushed by paramedics from the plane to a hospital, where she would be treated. She died later in the hospital, according to People.
“It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning,” reads the statement.
Fisher is well known for famous role as Princess Leia, as well as a recipient of Women of Vision Award and much more.
