Did you make a New Year’s resolution to be healthy and cut out fast food, but it’s been a struggle? Fear no more! Taco Bell is now being called a healthy fast food option.
Over the past couple years, the chain has made big leaps to make their food healthier by cutting trans fat and making a low calorie menu. The entire menu has decreased in sodium by 15% since 2008, and they’re working on cutting it down even more, according to USA Today.
“A registered dietitian nutritionist, said one of the biggest road blocks to eating healthfully at fast food and traditional restaurants is the sky-high levels of sodium. They are trying to decrease the amount of sodium which is great because usually when you do eat out, the menu options are higher in sodium”
A lot of people have been praising Taco Bell for these positive changes, while critics say they are doing it only to increase sales.
Whatever the reason, I don’t think anybody is complaining that they can eat more Taco Bell without the guilt!
