It was a scary day for the crew filming a music video for Australian hip hop group Bliss n Eso.
According to BBC News, a man in his late 20s was shot in the chest while filming. Members of the band were not present at the time of the shooting.
While the production crew tried to perform CPR on the man, he later died of his injuries. Nobody else was hurt however, and police have said there is no risk to the public.
The shooting took place at the Brooklyn Standard bar, which had been completely rented out for the video shoot. While it’s remaining closed through Monday, the bar released a statement:
“We would like everyone to know that none of our staff were involved in the incident and everyone is safe, and we are doing everything we can to help the police investigation at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of the individual involved, and we appreciate your respect and understanding at this time”
Several firearms were discharged during the filming of the video, but Queensland police do not know specifically how the injuries occurred and will be focusing their investigation on that subject.
