It may surprise you to know that Lady Gaga will not be paid a dime to perform at this year’s Super Bowl halftime show. It sure surprised me. But it turns out, Gaga stands to benefit the most from her performance.
Forbes reports, “…it’s actually a very logical marketing move – what she’ll forgo in direct payment, she’ll make up for with valuable exposure. Over 100 million viewers will only increase her popularity. She’ll likely have a tour to follow, which means a big payday for her – the Monster Ball Tour in 2011 grossed $239 million.”
In truth, even though the NFL is directly paying Gaga…they are paying for the expected $10 million production and Mother Monster will reap the rewards. So, when Tony Bennett introduces her next Sunday, just cheer “Go Gaga!”
