Justin Timberlake may look like he has it all, but he’s recently admitted that fatherhood has led him to realize that his own childhood had some issues.
According to Music-News.com, the former child actor and current global superstar has started speaking about how raising his son, Silas, has caused him to reflect on his own upbringing. He told the Hollywood Reporter:
“You go through your life with your own traumas, big and small, and think, ‘It’s not that bad, I have a lot to be thankful for, my parents did the best they could… but then you have a child of your own, and suddenly it opens all the floodgates, and you’re like, ‘No, no, no! That childhood trauma really did f**k me up!'”
While Timberlake wants to keep his son away from show business, if his son was really interested in going into it too, Timberlake feels he could be a good guy to turn to. He explained:
“Would I want my child to follow my path? You know, I haven’t been able to answer that question in my mind. If he wanted it bad enough, I suppose I could teach him a lot about what not to do.”
So while we may not being seeing Silas anytime on the big screen, it sounds like that will be A-OK for Timberlake.
