If think that the Gold Rush era is over, think again! According to CBS SFBayArea, reporter Joe Vazquez visited “Miner Gary” Thomas, a nearby Jamestown in Tuolumne County resident who runs tour groups through property to pick some gold. Thomas says that due to the recent down pour of rain, there is more runoff than usual, shaking the gold from the hills.
“It’s going to bring down more gold,” said Thomas. “It’s going to bring up new areas that I never got to.” Officials from the Bureau of Land Management say the erosion “concentrates” the gold by removing the lighter rock and soil.
So if you want to get rich quick, just head on up to Northern California.
