Dutch Bros. and Human Bean Are Donating Proceeds To Family Of Fallen CHP Officer

Today, all Sacramento area Dutch Bros. locations and the Human Bean in Rocklin will donate all proceeds for the day in honor of fallen Officer Chellew. Lucas Chellew was 31, and had been an 8-year veteran of the CHP. He died while in pursuit of a fleeing motorcyclist. While in pursuit, a vehicle cut him off, causing him to lose control of his motorcycle and collide with a pole.

Funds from coffee sales will be used to support Chellew’s family, according to the Sacramento Bee. “CHP does so much to protect our community. We want to show our appreciation and gratitude for everything they do,” said Kyle Garrett, Dutch Bros. Elk Grove owner. “Even though we know raising money to help his family in this tragic time will not heal any of their pain, we truly hope to ease the transition as much as we can.”

Officer Chellew will be laid to rest this weekend. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
