Look out world! Boaty McBoatface is about to embark on its first mission!
Boaty McBoatface, an unmanned submarine that was named by the public, is headed to its first mission in the Antarctic.
HuffingtonPost.com says that Boaty McBoatface is headed to “the Southern Ocean where it will probe water flow and turbulence in the Orkney Passage, which is about 2.17 miles below the surface.”
BTW- the article also says that the U.K.’s Natural Environment Research Council decided to give the ship a more conventional name – Sir David Attenborough.
