Lifetime seems to enjoy creating unauthorized biopics. Remember when they created an Aaliyah biopic, but her parents blocked the network from using any music that was created by Aaliyah? Or when Lifetime made a Whitney Houston biopic that her family completely hated?
Well it seems like they’re creating another unauthorized biopic, this time based on the life of Michael Jackson. The biopic titled Michael Jackson: Searching For Netherland premieres on May 29th.
And while Lifetime’s previous films in the “unauthorized” franchise have been pretty bad, this particular made-for-TV movie looks kind of intriguing. Why?? Well, because the cable channel hired famed MJ impersonator, Navi.
It’s said the story will be told from Jackson’s longtime bodyguards’ point of view, as the flick is based on the book penned by Michael’s security guards Bill Whitfield and Javon Beard.
