If you ever feel tired or hungry before lunch time, even if you ate breakfast, you’re not alone. Eating the wrong food in the morning can have a negative impact on your whole day. We know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but we have to know which foods will fuel us for our long day, and which ones will make us crash.

If you’re eating any of these foods in the morning, you may find yourself wanting to snack sooner or drink more coffee to wake up, according to MSN.

  1. Light Yogurt: These tend to have a high amount of artificial sweeteners or chemicals to make them ‘light.’ A good alternative is a low-fat Greek yogurt. This doesn’t have any added sugar and will keep you full until lunch time.
  2. Smoothies: Smoothies bought from the store are a bad breakfast choice because they may use whole milk or added sugars, which makes them more similar to a milkshake.
  3. Bagels: Bagels contain a lot of carbs, which will slow you down throughout the day. A bagel can be the equivalent of four pieces of white bread. If you love bagels, you can try a whole wheat option with a healthy topping, such as avocado.
  4. Breakfast Sandwich: A homemade breakfast sandwich can be a healthy breakfast option if made correctly, but a store bought one can be greasy or processed, and lack fiber.
