We all love free Wi-Fi! According to the Sacramento Bee, The City Council has approved a contract with Verizon that allows the telecom giant to place small cellular towers on 101 utility poles. The agreement will cost the city an estimated $2 million in potential lease payments over the next 10 years.
Verizon will place free Wi-Fi in Land Park, McKinley Park and 25 yet-to-be determined parks around Sacramento. Further, digital kiosks that will generate free Wi-Fi will be placed along K Street.
On top of all that, the company also will provide dozens of internships to young people over the next five years.
Do you think this is going to be a good addition to Sacramento parks?
