Security is being tightened at the White House after a gunman opened fire on a congressional softball practice just before 7 a.m. ET in Alexandria, Virginia. At this time they believe it was a lone gunman with a semi-automatic weapon who opened fire during the practice. GOP Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise of Louisiana was one of five people shot, including two security guards who used their hand guns to fire back at the gunman. With the return fire, 50 to 100 shots were reportedly fired. Scalise, the Majority Whip of the House of Representatives, was reportedly shot in the hip and is said to be in stable condition at this time. Scalise was at the field with other House Republicans practicing for the annual Congressional Baseball Game which is scheduled for tomorrow night at Nationals Park. According to reports the gunman is in custody.
