United To Start Serving Chicago-Style Pizza On Long Flights

This is pretty awesome, especially considering most airline food is sub-par at best. (Unless you’re in First Class of course.)

The pizzas will come from United’s hometown of Chicago, specifically from Uno Pizzeria & Grill. So, the next time you fly United from the U.S. on a flight longer than 3 1/2 hours, you can buy a Chicago pie! United mixes up its menu a couple times a year and had been getting a lot of requests for pizza. And, if you’re wondering if pizza at 3500 feet will taste good, United says the pizzas fit in a skillet the airline already has for cooking other items, which they say will make the pizza taste good. United Spokesman¬†Jonathan Guerin says,¬†“We didn’t want to serve this iconic item in a dish that wasn’t going to do it justice. It ensures a nice, crisp crust.”

United is selling the Chicago-style pies for $9.99 or $13.99 for a pizza and Miller Lite combo. Look for United’s new menu starting July 1st.
