Two new California highway signs went up about a week ago, complete with spelling errors! Caltrans says one of the new signs is along Highway 1 in Monterrey County and tells drivers that the exit for Seaside and Del “Ray” Oaks is coming up in 1 1/4 miles. But, they spelled it R-A-Y, instead of R-E-Y. The other sign, at the exit, also misspelled the Rey in “Del Rey Oaks.” So, how much will it cost to change the “a” to an “e”? Caltrans says several hundred dollars, but if they to replace the signs, it could cost thousands. The misspelled signs will stay up until they decide what to do!
