Event: Sacramento Independence Day Celebration at Cal Expo
When: July 4, Doors open at 5 p.m., fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.
Where: Cal Expo, Miller Lite Grandstand at 1600 Exposition Blvd. in Sacramento
Price: General admission is free. Reserved seating tickets available for $10 until all are sold. Parking is $10/car.

Event: Buffalo Chips 41st Annual 4th of July 5-miler — Per request of organizers, “Please no dogs, water buffalo or headphones. Safety first!” The Buffalo Chips run is Sacramento’s oldest running event.
When: July 4; Sign-in time is from 7:15 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. (Participants are required to sign a waiver), races begin at 7:45 a.m. for the children’s half-mile race for ages 10 years old and younger, 8 a.m. for the five-mile race

Event: 16th Annual Arden Arcade Spirit of Freedom Parade — Enjoy the parade traveling along Fulton Avenue and Cottage Way, then enjoy festivities and free food at Howe Park afterwards.
When: July 4, Parade begins at 9:30 a.m.
Where: Fulton-El Camino Recreation and Park District at Howe Park in Sacramento

Event: Pocket 4th of July Parade
When: July 4, Parade begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 2 p.m.
Where: Parade begins at Lisbon Elementary School, continues along Windbridge Drive to Garcia Bend Park. More activities will happen after the parade in Garcia Bend Park.

Event: Madison Avenue Baptist Church’s Kids Day — Come for a wonderful day of games, arts and crafts, snacks, prizes, facepainting and story time!
When: July 2, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Madison Avenue Baptist Church at 4148 Madison Avenue in North Highlands
Price: Free, all children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult. All ages are welcome!

Event: Auburn Family 4th of July — Celebrate and dance to music at Auburn’s annual Independence Day activities.

Event: Independence Day Celebration + Fireworks
When: July 1; gates open at 2 p.m.
Where: Ironstone Vineyards at 1894 Six Mile Rd. in Murphys
Price: Adult admission is $15, children 6 to 12 years old are $5, and children 5 years and under are free.

Event: Carmichael Fourth of July Celebration
When: July 4; pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m.; 59th Annual Elks Club Parade at 10:30 a.m.; fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.
Where: Breakfast is at the Carmichael Park Clubhouse at 5750 Grant Ave. Parade begins at Marconi Avenue and Fair Oaks Boulevard and ends at Cypress and Manzanita avenues. Fireworks show happens at the La Sierra Community Center at 5325 Engle Rd.
Price: $5 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under for the pancake breakfast. The fireworks show is free.

Event: Colfax July 3rd Independence Day Celebration
When: July 3; main parade starts at 7 p.m. and fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.

When: July 3 from 6 to 11 p.m. Fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.

Event: 21st Annual Salute to the Red, White and Blue — Festivities begin with live music and food and are followed by spectacular fireworks. Spectators are encouraged to bring blankets and enjoy a concert in the park.
When: July 4; Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.; Arrive at 4 p.m. for festivities throughout the night, ends at 10 p.m.
Where: Elk Grove Regional Park on 9950 Elk Grove-Florin Road in Elk Grove
Price: Free, parking is $10 per vehicle and drivers should enter at the main gate off Elk Grove-Florin Road.

Event: Folsom Pro Rodeo — With wild rodeo action, live music and fireworks in the arena, the Folsom Pro Rodeo is sure to be a fun night of Fourth of July celebrations.
When: July 1 through 3; gates open at 6 p.m., colorful Grand Entry begins at 7:30 p.m., and fireworks go up between 9:30 and 9:45 p.m. Mike’s Golden Spike Saloon gets going from 10 p.m. to midnight.
Where: Dan Russell Rodeo Arena

Event: Lake Oroville Fireworks — Bring a picnic, lawn chairs, blanket and enjoy the Fourth of July with us. Please no pets, fireworks open flames and do not park on the dry grass.
When: July 4; gates open at 6 p.m. and fireworks begin at 9 p.m.
Where: Thermalito North Forebay and the Nelson Sports Complex at Lake Oroville

Event: Lights on the Lake Fireworks — NBC’s TODAY show recognizes Tahoe South’s fireworks display as one of the country’s top Independence day weekend celebrations. The American Pyrotechnic Association rates it as one of the top five in the nation.
When: July 4; Fireworks begin at 9:45 p.m.
Where: Around Lake Tahoe, but more prominently at South Lake Tahoe

Event: Rolling Chrome/Tahoe Thunder car show at the Heavenly Village — Sidewalk sales and ‘50s music bring the fun and entertainment to the Heavenly Village in South Lake Tahoe. Enter a raffle for a chance to win a yellow 1953 Ford F-100.

When: July 4; Kiwanis International Pancake Breakfast is from 7 to 11 a.m. Public swimming at Lodi Lake runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fireworks shoot off at 9:30 p.m.

Event: Annual Modesto Independence Day Parade “Modesto USA” — The opening ceremony will include a tribute to fallen officers Deputy Wallce, CSO Johnson and Deputy Garner, with a 1000 square-foot aerial flag display.
When: July 4 at 9:30 a.m.; All American Festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: El Dorado County Fairgrounds
Price: $6 for parking in the Tiers; $3 for walk-ins at the gate; $15 for a carload of up to 6 (includes parking and admission); $45 for RVs staying overnight

When: July 4 at 9 a.m.
Where: Hagan Community Park, race starts and ends at Mills Middle School

Event: Run Crime out of Roseville — 5K/10K Fun Run/Walk for the Whole Community
When: July 4;10K race starts at 7:20 a.m., 5K race begins at 7:45 a.m. and the kids quarter-mile race kicks off at 8:45 a.m.
Where: Royer Park (start and finish)
Price: Registration is $30 per adult, $25 per child under the age of 16, and teams of five who want to challenge Roseville PD will pay $125.

Event: Roseville Fourth of July Parade
When: July 4 at 9 a.m.; stay after the parade for carnival games, bounce houses and food vendors until 1 p.m.
Where: Riverside, Vernon and Douglas intersection, past the civic center, right on Lincoln Street and right again on Park Drive.

Event: Roseville Fireworks — The city of Roseville asks that there be no alcohol, glass containers, barbecues or personal fireworks at the show.
When: July 4; gates open at 5 p.m.; fireworks will kick off at 9:30 p.m.
Where: Placer County Fairgrounds on 800 All America City Blvd. in Roseville.

Event: Annual Fourth of July BBQ — The University Plaza Waterfront Hotel has live music and with its annual Independence Day celebration.
When: July 4 from 5 to10 p.m.; doors open at 5 p.m. Dinner is from 6 to 8 p.m., and music will play from 6 to 10 p.m.
Where: University Plaza Waterfront Hotel
Price: Admission is $15 for children and $30 per adults. Reservations are required. The swimming pool is available, but please bring your own towel.

Event: Tracy Fourth of July Celebration
When: July 4; Hot air balloon launch and pancake breakfast at 6 a.m. Fourth of July Parade starts at 10 a.m. Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.
Where: Hot Air Balloon Launch and pancake breakfast will happen at Lincoln Park, while the fireworks show will launch at nearby Tracy High School.
Price: Fireworks show is $5 for general admission, and $2 for children 12 and younger, as well as senior citizens 65 and older.
