A Texas woman that recently underwent a minor surgery woke up to a horrifying discovery: her front teeth were missing.
According to CBS DFW, Gail Tapp went to USMD Hospital in Fort Worth for bladder surgery. After informing the doctors that she had a permanent dental bridge, she was put under anesthesia.
When she awoke, she quickly realized something was wrong and discovered her front teeth were gone. Doctors later informed her that when they removed her breathing tube, they accidentally knocked out her teeth.
While she was told to let the hospital’s administration know so their insurance could cover it, the hospital’s insurance company denied Tapp coverage and the hospital refused to pay as well.
She is now currently up to $15,000 in debt due to the dental procedures she’s needed since the surgery.
