New Kids on the Block star Donnie Wahlberg did one of the nicest things this week.
After landing in North Carolina Donnie stopped to eat a local Waffle House. While eating there he racked up an $82.60 bill and then proceeded to leave a $2,000 tip, well over the normal 20%.
It seems Wahlberg’s giving nature stems from his parents. In a post about the tip Wahlberg stated
“My mom waited tables, and my dad tended bars– for years! So, when I walk into a #WaffleHouse and the staff treats me like a king, you better believe I treat them like queens! Thanks to the team at @wafflehouseofficial Charlotte, NC!
This wasn’t the first time Wahlberg has done something like this according to MSN. Back in May while in Edgewater Maryland, he left a $500 tip at another Waffle House. And during a Facebook live stream in Charlotte while at another Waffle House he also gifted a few employees and diners with tickets to his to his Thursday night Spectrum Center performance. According to MSN the video now has over 195,000 views.
During this live event he stated
“We’re just gonna have to invite this whole Waffle House to the concert.”
One staff member Jasmine said she couldn’t wait to take her and her mother to the concert. To which Wahlberg replied
“If you need more than 4 tickets just let me know… we’ll get you 10 tickets, you let us know.”
The man seems to really care about Waffle House and its employees. In May, “New Kids on the Block” released their latest EP titled “Thankful.” I guess one could really say Wahlberg is a thankful person
