The California State Fair opens today (Friday) and runs through July 30th offering tons of new attractions, including MORE SHADE, which we’re going to need!
Going to the fair can get expensive, especially if you’re taking a family. Plus, all the new foods to try and rides to go on, the cold beer, it’s just hard to resist, never mind paying for parking and tickets! Well, the Sacramento Bee has come up with some great ways we can enjoy the fair without breaking the bank!
The State Fair is open M-Th from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday-Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. There’s really no way to save on parking, unless you carpool. You’re going to pay $15 for cars and $5 for motorcycles. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 if you’re 62+, kids 5-12 are $8 and Kids 4 and under are FREE!!
So, where can you save?
You may have to take a day off work, or a half day, because on Tuesday, all rides are $2 (that’s a bargain?) and kids 12 and under get into the fair FREE!
This will peak your interest!! On Wednesdays and Thursdays you can sample food from a $2 menu between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. All vendors will have a sample, you just have to ask!
And, the State Fair loves its Military! On July 20th, Military and Veteran Appreciation Day, active, reserve and veteran military get in FREE with a valid ID.
