1st Ever Female ‘Doctor Who’

British actress Jodi Whittaker will be the first ever female play the Doctor in the long-running science fiction series ‘Doctor Who’

Whittaker, who is best known for her role in the detective drama “Broadchurch” is next in line to take control of the Tardis, a time machine shaped like an old-fashioned British police telephone booth.

Whittaker will be the 13th Doctor, a galaxy-hopping Time Lord, a role that has been played a dozens men over six decades. She will be replacing the current Doctor, played by Scottish actor Peter Capaldi at the end of the year.

“The fans have lived through so many changes, and this is only a new, different one, not a fearful one,” Whittaker told The Hollywood Reporter.

I’m loving the fact a female is becoming the next Doctor. It’s a longtime coming.
