Caltrans is warning drivers to stay away from Highway 50 and the Pioneer Bridge between Sacramento and West Sacramento this weekend. Crews are going to be repaving the road – again. Lane closures will begin tonight (Friday 7/21) at 10 p.m. and will be reopened in time for the Monday morning commute.
“There is no way to do it without backups, so it is like ripping off a Band-Aid,” Caltrans construction chief Andy Alvarado told the Sacramento Bee. “Let’s get in there, get the work done and get out as soon as possible.”
Caltrans wants everyone to avoid the area as much as possible for the next SIX weekend, and go to Pioneerbridgeproject.com for more information.
