According to the Nevada County Public Health Department, five children have gotten sick, three of them testing positive for E. coli after swimming in Lake Wildwood beach near Grass Valley in Nevada County, KTXL in Sacramento reported.
The story came into light after a 3-year-old boy (name is disclosed) was hospitalized for having an upset stomach, digestive issues and blood in his stool. The kid was apparently at the lake last week.
They went swimming near the clubhouse, which is where Nevada County public health officials believe the boy and four others were possibly exposed to E. Coli.
It is also worth noting that there are wastewater treatment plants near the lake but public works officials have yet to find a leak.
KTXL has the full story.
