Are you looking for new job where you get paid six-figures while also working to protect the planet?
If you answered “yes,” NASA might have the perfect job for you!
According to Business Insider, NASA is now hiring for a “planetary protection officer,” and they’ll be paying between $124,406 and $187,000 a year, plus benefits.
The main function of the job will be to protect the Earth from extraterrestrial contamination, as well as protecting other planets from contamination from Earth.
While many space agencies hire these types of officers in part-time roles, this full-time position is one only two offered in the entire world (the European Space Agency offers the other one).
Qualified applicants need to have one year of experience as top-level civilian government employee, an advanced degree in physical science, engineering, or mathematics, as well as possess a significant amount of knowledge about planetary protection.
