J.Crew Is Hitting Hard Times

The first hint of something going awry in J.Crew came in April, when Jenna Lyons, a longtime creative director of the brand, left the company.

Somsack Sikhounmuong, who’s been a designer for the company for sixteen years, took over her role, but has now also announced his resignation right at the start of New York Fashion Week.

Interestingly, Sikhounmuong’s role will not be replaced. J.Crew has instead decided to have the creative director role absorbed by a wide range of staff, reports Fast & Co.

Lately, J.Crew has seen a decline in sales, and it’s hard to determine what might happen to the clothing brand down the road. If the current events surrounding the company is any indication, it seems J.Crew might be crashing into some waves in the coming months.
