Texans QB Donates First Paycheck To Cafeteria Workers Affected By Harvey

An NFL rookie donated his first pay check to three women affected by Hurricane Harvey. Rookie QB Deshaun Watson plays for the Texans and knows firsthand the devastation caused by Harvey and wanted to help three women who work at the stadium’s cafeteria who were affected by the flood waters. So, Watson donated his first game check to them saying, “For what you all do for us every day and never complain, I really appreciate you all, so I wanted to give my first game check to y’all to help y’all out in some type of way.”

Watson makes just shy of a half a million dollars a year and donated a check to the three women for $27,353.00. Watson just walked in to the cafeteria in the stadium to surprise the women holdnig envelopes wrapped in ribbon telling them, “Hopefully, that’s good and that can get you back on your feet. And anything else y’all need, I’m always here to help.”

Being charitable is important to Watson who’s family once received a home built by Habitat for Humanity.
