Not kidding, I have an apology to make.
But first, I’ve got to start out by saying I’m not a Raiders Fan. I married into being a 49ers Fan. (Which has not been easy as of late). Not only that, but I also have to hate the Cowboys. I think he slipped it in the vows. And while I’m not a Raiders fan… I am a fan of the fact that they have some really good players on their team, namely quarterback Derek Carr and wide receiver Amari Cooper. So, when I drafted my Fantasy football team, they were two of my top choices. This is my first year playing the fantasy football, which is way less dorky than I used to think, and I think I am bad luck for anyone I draft, which has now trickled down to the Raiders. Seriously. My number one draft pick, one of the top Fantasy picks, running back David Johnson for the Cardinals was injured WEEK ONE!! Pretty much out for the season. Since then, I’ve been plagued with minor injuries, hamstring, pinky finger, which has led to my players WAY underperforming. Like, really bad. Like, there’s been days I would have been better off NOT playing a running back at all. And, the one week I had Baltimore for my defense, they seriously lost me 6 points. How do you score MINUS 6 points?
And then it happened. Week 4… Derek Carr… OUT. Out 2-6 weeks after FRACTURING his back. I mean, have you ever heard of such a thing happening in football? Blow out a knee. Sure. Dislocate a shoulder, it happens. Fracturing your back. Nope. I’m THE jinx.
So, for that, I’d like to formally apologize for drafting two of the Raider Nation’s STAR players. Next year I do hereby solemnly swear to only draft players from the Dallas Cowboys.
